Various Things

‘m getting to the point in the book where I need to be very careful.
Why? Because stupidly I have refused to think about this book as a whole, and as I’ve been working on it, I’ve figured out four sequels. Two of them are–for me at any rate–plotted pretty thoroughly. So in wrapping things up, I kind of need to make sure that some things end right where they should.
The long and short of it is that I’ve started a tiny bit of work on the second book, which actually has a title–it started as a title, believe it or not, which is shocking–but which I’m calling “Unmarketable work containing Inordinate Legalese,” or “Legalese” for short. It, too, now has a progress bar. This is just so that I feel like I’m making actual progress, when I am, in fact, revising the same scene over and over again.

I’m hoping that revising over and over again IS progress.

I know how you feel. I typed THE END to werewolf whisperer and thought, whew, that’s done. . . now for a shower and a nap. Ms. Muse, go amuse yourself.
Well, the cabana boys did a number on her. Halfway through my shower, she gave me ideas for not one, not two, but THREE other books (trilogies are over-rated). I’m starting the second one now.
Of course, mine are only 30,000 words versus y’all’s 100K novels! Yikes!

Okay, Eve has finished her book, and you’re starting a second?! I feel like such a major underachiever…
I’m thinking of cutting out some of the siblings in my WIP because I’m not sure I want to have to write nine books centered on one family nor, with the ever shorter attention span present these days, am I sure readers want to read that many books about a single family. Unless their last name happens to be Bridgerton, of course…

Sara, I’m not done with my first. This is just a way of procrastinating on doing some of the hard annoying bits. I suspect that what will happen is that I’ll merge most of the hard connecting bits as best as I can. And ALL of this is a method of procrastinating, as it is!
