was just looking for a plane ticket–daydreaming, more like. I thought the price was pretty high–around four hundred bucks–when I saw this little notation. “Get this flight plus a rental car for $187!”
How on earth could that possibly be the case? I checked. I double checked. I triple checked. And then I bought the flight–and the rental car–for $187. I feel like I’ve pulled a fast one over on someone. This can’t be legal!
But the cops are gonna have to look for me elsewhere, because I’m skipping town for the weekend. Have a nice Labor day weekend, everyone, and tell me all your delicious plans.

What a deal! By the time they figure out how much money they are losing on it you’ll be home.
My plans? Not much. I’ll do a little blogging, figure out where my ds wandered off to, maybe attend the fair.

Shockingly, I have discovered that when you buy a plane ticket thirteen hours before your flight leaves, the police automatically stop you.
They put big Ss all over my boarding pass, which someone then laboriously circled and highlighted, and I had to go through the mega-security thing. For some reason, the fact that they use “S” really bothers me–mostly because I read once that’s what the Nazis used on their paperwork to delineate people who were supposed to be punished even more severely in concentration camps.
What’s wrong with Q?

Pam, you’ve had your share of successes, too!
And Alice, tell us about the fair.

I am way late here but I just wanted to say congrats on the contest, congrats on the cheap ticket (ooohhh, S for suspect! How accusatory) and the site looks wonderful. And I see the progress meter there shows you’re very close to the end. Can’t wait to see you on the shelves.

Labor Day weekend is now a distant memory as we are all back at work again, but had to say Love the new site! This is gorgeous.

Love the new site and hope you had a terrific weekend. What really burns me is even if you buy a ticket months in advance and your flight is cancelled and the AIRLINE REBOOKS you…you still get that nasty S thing on your ticket and have to go through extra security. Bleh!
