have to admit, there is nothing I like better than being right. And being able to tell someone “I told you so” makes being right even sweeter. I read the first scene of Goddess of the Hunt after it was first written, and made comments on it. Since then, I have read every scene–even the ones that didn’t make it into the book–and I have loved it all the time. I told Tessa over and over and over again that this book would be published. Going back through e-mails, I see that on January 31st, 2007, I told her that her book would sell at auction.
Tessa got the call. Not just the call–she got the auction. And everything else I have predicted for this book has come true. I can’t wait for the rest of you to be able to read Goddess of the Hunt–and its incredible two sequels–when Ballantine releases them in 2009.
I predict that you will love it. And you know what? So far, I haven’t been wrong about this book once.

Squeee!!!!!! Oh yes, you are one smart cookie. I also loved Tessa’s book from the very first scene and have wept over the loss of some fine ones (like the prologue) that aren’t in the current draft. I love it when we’re right!

This is true, India. We are a genius.

LMAO. Yes we are!

I weep for the prologue, too! GOTH is such a beautiful, passionate book. I feel so privileged to have read it. Clever CM, predicting an auction. It’s all too, too exciting!!

LOL, CM - you just like to be proven right. And I like to prove you right, so that works well, doesn’t it?
I could ask my new editor about the prologue… who knows? No one seems to miss the phaeton. I miss the phaeton.
What CM and India and Lenora are not saying here is that they all read GOTH and saved it from abject suckitude with their insightful comments. And there are some scenes (*cough* first draft of deflowering *cough*) that will remain thankfully buried forever.

What an amazing thing to wake up to! Can’t wait to see it in bookstores

Lenora, we’re all clever, but not so clever as Tessa right now.
Tessa, that phaeton…. Some things are better off dead. Or unmentioned. Or posted months after the successful release as a “deleted scene.”
And Gillian–you are in for a real treat! This book is MARVELOUS.

Phaeton scene? Hmmm, this sounds intriguing.
Congrats CM and India on being right… perhaps you both need to start a prediction biz in regarding books!

Yes, but we all knew it was coming, even those of us who didn’t get to see much of it. Sniff, sniff.

w00t!!! You’re next!

I’ve been squeeing myself silly!
Did you note the date when you predicted Tessa Dare, NYT Bestseller? You’re gonna want to hold on to that one as well!
October 16th, 2007 at 11:56 am
You know, that one’s harder to pinpoint–too many messages with the words “NYT” or “Bestseller” or even “The List” to find it with a simple search. A long time ago, I think.
“Auction” on the other hand….
