just received notice that my badly titled manuscript, better known as Legalese, finaled in the Golden Network’s Golden Pen contest.
More importantly, I got some great feedback that will help me get the manuscript ready for the mother of all contests, the Golden Heart.
This has really been a week of great news–feel free to share yours, too! The more, the merrier!

I’m telling you, I called it! You called Tessa… Well, I’m calling you to be next

Thanks, Lacey.
I’ll just be happy when I can finally go out and pitch.
You wouldn’t believe how jealous I am of people piling up the rejections.

Hurrah! Many congrats - this has been an amazing week. Hmm - Golden Gateway, Golden Pen… am I sensing a pattern here? I think so!

Congratulations, CM!! I have to agree with Lindsey. Sounds like your “badly titled” manuscript has the “Golden” touch! I had to laugh when you said you were jealous of people’s rejection notices!! Actually, I am a little jealous myself.

Yay, Courtney. I, too, am unsurprised and expect great things from you in the final round.
This has been a good and busy week in Romancelandia. Sales and finals abound.

Wahoo! Wahoo! I can’t wait for you to be out there pitching. I think you’d look lovely with a little gold heart around your neck!

Congratulations again! But, of course, it’s no surprise. Can’t wait to see your name with the Golden Heart finalists!

Congrats CM! Very exciting news! Not surprising given your talent, but contest finals are such a bonus. Hope to see you (and, uh, me!) in the GH finals!

Thanks, everyone, for the congratulations.
October 17th, 2007 at 5:42 pm
Congratulations, and good luck in the GH!

Congratulations, CM!! I can’t wait to see your full picture on the back of a book jacket.I’m sure you’re publisher won’t accept a hand like we did at Avon!!

Thanks, Lynne and Skirbo! I promise you, if I ever publish there will be a full picture–I’ll even post one on the web before the book comes out!
Are either of you entering the GH?
October 18th, 2007 at 9:04 am
Congrats! What awesome news! Thank God you’re not writing regency and I won’t have to compete against you in the GH!
October 18th, 2007 at 9:24 am
Thanks, Sara! I know you’re going to clean up in the GH like the rock star you are–unless you sell your manuscript first, which is a DISTINCT possibility.
October 18th, 2007 at 8:38 pm
Congrats again, CM! This is fantastic news!
October 19th, 2007 at 12:43 pm
Congrats!!! Job entirely well done!!! Can’t wait to hear how all the pitching goes when you get to do that.
October 19th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Nope, no GH for me.
October 21st, 2007 at 1:49 am
Oops, I’m late. Huge belated congratulations from me!! That is so exciting. I’m with Skirbo–can’t wait to see your portrait in the back of a book instead of the mysterious FanLit hand.
