And I truly believe the biggest thing that stands between any writer and publication is sheer, bloody-minded determination--giving up is the only way to be SURE you'll never be published. I still haven't seen the final signed version! I was *convinced* they were going to take it back, and then wouldn't I look stupid, having announced my sale already?
