Thank you

There were times when I was writing Trial by Desire when I really didn’t know why I was doing it. It was a really, really hard book to write. There were parts that felt like sending little splinters of bamboo up my fingernails. When I finished, I told Mr. Milan that if I ever had to write a book like that again, I was going to quit writing altogether because it just wasn’t worth it.

For the most part, I don’t comment on reviews, or on reader discussions. But Google Alerts sends me snippets…. And so this blog post is for everyone who has talked about this book online, or e-mailed me, or tweeted someone that they had to read this book… I just want to say thank you.

There were definitely times when it felt like this book was not worth the agony of writing it.

I don’t feel like that now.

You’re welcome! And thank YOU for slogging through when it didn’t feel like it was worth the effort, because it was most definitely worth my money and time to buy and read it.

What Cris said. I imagine this was a rough book to write, because in some places it was a tough book to read. That’s one thing I loved about it.

(Dood, seriously, it was so good. SO GOOD. Like I’m still thinking about it a week later, good.)

I remember sitting with you at the bar at RT, and you were talking about how challenging this book was to write. Even knowing that, I found TBD to be beautiful, confident and complex. Not a word out of place. No signs of struggle or doubt. Like Ned, you emerged stronger and more in command of your abilities than ever before.

I am glad you finished writing this book. It is definitely worth it for me. I always wondered after reading Proof by seduction that how you are going to turn Ned into. I love the man he became and absolutely love the book.
