Truth or Lie? Courtney once froze the pipes in her house when it was 103° F out.
It was August, in Florida, and Courtney (at that time getting a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry) was practicing doing a chemistry magic show for the local science museum. This particular show, we’d planned to use liquid nitrogen, which is awesome, and we were going to end by making liquid nitrogen ice cream. So we were testing out the recipe the night before at my house, and, long story short, I poured a bunch of liquid nitrogen casually down the kitchen sink, where it promptly froze the water in the U-trap, which promptly cracked wide open.
That was not a fun discussion with the plumber.
